I have a heater box unit that I am refurbishing. Is the only way to remove the fan unit by drilling out the rivets? I do not think I will go back with rivets. It is on a 72 demon.

Not sure how different a 70 is from a 72 but on the 70, the motor and squirrel cage assembly is slid onto the studs that go through the firewall. To slide it off the studs you have to remove the little round spring washers and then the spacer bushings. After that the motor and squirrel cage will slide right off. The motor mounting plate which the studs are attached to has to be removed by drilling out the rivets.

I bought a new one for $17 clearance on rockauto a few months ago. Listed my 64 or 65 A-body. Both my cars are non-AC, so I wouldn't have bought if listed as for AC, but don't recall. Sorry, not offering for sale. I bought to make my life easier, not yours, but they are out there.
