replaceing windsheild on a 70 dart swinger

Hi everyone
hope this is the right place to put this request.
I am about to reinstall the front windshield.
do I put the gasket in first around the frame then force the glass into the gasket
or
put the glass in the gasket first and force them both together on the frame lip.

the guy that removed the windshield first removed the trim then pushed the glass out of the gasket started at the corner, however he did crack the glass.

I did see a video using a rope inside the gasket channel with the glass in the gasket and they pulled in into place.
looking for the easy way if anyone has done this.

Found it put the gasket on the windsheild first then work the gasket on the pinch rim of the frame.

It can be done either way. I just re-installed the windshield on my 68 Dart.

I put the gasket into the opening first, and then worked the glass into the gasket, sliding the upper part of the windshield into its channel first, then working my way around the windshield with a plastic "tool" that I made from a paint stir stick. It worked pretty good, and I was even working alone (not my best idea).
Best thing you can have is a second set of hands to help out. Just go slowly and be careful, good luck.
