Hello,
I was looking to get the lunati cam pasted below but it seems to be out of stock/ or discontinued. Does anyone know of any good cam options with similar specs?

For context, I've got a 318 out of a 69 barracuda with performer intake, Holley 600 CFM carb, headers/ dual exhaust, stock converter, and stock gears I believe 2.76 (for now).
 
The easiest thing to do is get on Summit's website and look for other cams with similar specs. All the options are on the left of the screen.
 
lunati is out of print, so you'd need to find one that's dead stock collecting dust on a shelf somewheres.

very close to that is the the comp 31240 (although it's on a 112 CL) i've run that and i imagine it performs quite similar.

personally, though i'd go a little smaller with that carb and intake. howards street force 1 would be my choice with the stock converter and gears.

 
ALL of Melling's engine parts are made in USA. I've had nothing but good luck with their camshafts and lifters.

If your not worried about sound, this looks like a hell of a deal.

parts hawk is a reputable seller, they're just a big online middle man like rock or whoever.

melling is good stuff and great value.

that cam is bascally a 340 cam, but it's ground on a 112. i've run them in 318's a bunch. i think there's better, more modern, or more suitable grinds out there for this application, but they're also more money.
 
Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'm still doing some research to figure out what will be best. This is my first engine rebuild so I want to take my time and make sure I don't overcam this engine.
 
FYI, I'm running the Summit K6900 in a 74 318 with 600 Eddy, duals off the stock manifolds, stock converter, and 2.76s (for now, just like you). It's specs are identical to the Melling MTD-1 except for .001" difference in exhaust lift. It is definitely not over-cammed. I really don't think it idles much different than stock and still pulls 18 inches of vacuum. As junkyardhero said, there are more modern grinds that would give more "under the curve" results but it was dirt cheap and is easy on the valve train. Also, if your engine is actually a 69, it will have higher compression pistons from the factory. Hope this info helps.

Thanks for sending that Dan. I've read through several of the existing threads but the problem I've run into is they're older threads so the recommended cams seem to be discontinued/out of stock. I'll read through this one and see if I have better luck.

Since I don't know/understand much about picking a camshaft, my engine rebuilder suggested this Melling:

He said it would be a good choice for my ice cream parlor cruiser (.030 over original 318, LD4B intake, 1406 carb, MP electronic ignition, factory exhaust manifolds, FlowMaster 40s, 2 1/4" pipes, A904, 3.55:1 sure-grip 741 case 8 3/4" rear end with P245/60R15 tires (15" X 7" WheelVintiques Rallye wheels).

My 318 was rebuilt over the 2021-2022 winter.

Just leave the stock cam in it. That's all you have chosen here. ^^^^^
