Replacing Points, timing

This probably belongs here.

I am going to take the distributer out to replace the points and re-time the motor,

Is there a o-ring or a base gasket for the distributer that will need replacing?

Yes
There is a O ring on the underside of the dist.

IMO when you have distributor out replace it with an electronic one. Then you don't have to worry about doing points again. Just a thought.

I just ordered an ignition from FBO. They have a winter special going on. I think you can even get the electric ignition harness from them. thanks, i will have to check that out, gotta get going on rewiring the whole car too.
