It's official, a little old N/A slant 6 is taking on the big bad Hellcat. Best 2 out of 3, may the quickest green car win!

If its the same driver as the losing green Hellcat vs.Tesla driving again, you are set! Good luck.

Ryan Peterson...

I know this car I have reference to here, is not naturally aspirated, but then, neither is the Hellcat... and I am aware that I have posted this amazing video enough times that you all have all, no doubt, seen it by now, but the times turned on this run by his '66 Valiant are quicker and faster than any times I have seen reported in the media for a Hellcat shod in OEM rubber...

The '66 Valiant has some, I believe, 8"-wide drag radials (ostensibly, street tires,) so it has a much smaller footprint than the OEM tires on the Hellcat. No advantage, there...

Here it is, one more time: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QzUfV8iTpQ"]Turbo Slant Six 10.74 @ 127 mph 7-19-10 - YouTube[/ame]

I would be DOUBLY astounded if the little green Valiant, ACTING WITHOUT THE BENEFIT OF FORCED INDUCTION, could outrun that Hellcat. I will be squarely in his corner, and nothing would please me more than to see the new "WUNDRCAR" being shown the way home by that totally surprising N/A slant six!!! I wouldn't bet against it; that is for sure!!!

If the Gods ane willing, and the creeks don't rise, I'll get to witneness this race firsthand: I am really looking forward to it! Might even have my bucket of bolts there, but it will in no way be a contender for these marbles... I'll not have enough experience by then, to trust the necessary amount of boost in that motor, to be taken seriously... Probably, ten pounds will be my limit at that time, and that will only put that hunk of junk in the low 13's, in all likelihood.... at least, a train-length behind the front runners.

But, down the pike, if I am lucky, that time may come...:prayer::prayer::prayer:

In the meantime, I take my hat off to a guy with a naturally-aspirated slant six who would make such a ballsy move. You GO guy!!!

I was there last year and have some videos of that wicked little car. It would be AWESOME to see it lay the beatdown on a Hellcat. 11.00 @ 119 from a naturally aspirated slant six. Hopefully it'll run in the 10's on April 11th! What makes this car so fast?

must be that slant six motor!

the tranny is an air shifted Lenco,,
alcohol, injected motor, 100% drag car chassis
I ran against it at Clay City in the slant six races,
that car is a rocket on wheels, consistent to

I think if a n/a slant six car ever had a chance of beating a 707HP Hellcat, this is the one. Do you know if it ever ran 10's?

The owner of that 66 is a member here IIRC...but not been on in awhile....I am rooting for the 66 :glasses7:

That '66 video was posted by ME, because I am just a huge fan of it; I don't live near the car, nor have I ever met the owner, but I was so impressed with how it runs, I wanted everyone to see it. I have not heard that he will be at that race, but anything could happen, I guess.

I should have made that clear in my original post; he may not even know about that race... but, I'd pay good money to see his car do battle with the Hellcat, and the green '61 Lancer (naturally aspirated, /6, but don't let that fool you; it may win everything!) It runs AWESOME!!!

if there is enough "conversation" here about these azazing slant cars, maybe it will bring in good crowd on the 11th!!?? a nice country strip, just north of Joplin Mo. good folks and good times.

the strip has a website. sometimes it gets a lot of rain and they have to postpone the event, so always check it before travel. listed as Mo-Kan Dragway
