I am painting under the hood while I am rebuilding the engine and I pulled the A/C and Heater box (and everything else from under the dash) so I can sand blast it and prep for paint.

So while it’s out I m gonna take care of restoring all everything under the dash. Is there one place that offers everything? All the gasket/seals for Heater/ac box, the insulation pads, wiper motor and linkage grommets and gaskets, and all the grommets and plugs for the firewall. Basically one place I can get all of it. I can piece mail it just want a recommendation.

Thanks so much!

Detroit Muscle has great kits for this.

I used a wipe on fiberglass resto product made for boats after a good wash on the box. It turned out pretty nice. The color popped right back as it once looked.

Just be careful puttting the clips back on the box. Don’t force them and use a flat blade screw driver as a lever to hook over the clips and set them or get a set of speading wide bill snap ring pliers or similar for re-assembly. Do not try to pop them back on with a mallet or such or you will likely cause damage to the case.

I also used Detroit Muscle Technologies kit for my 74 Duster heat/A.C. box. I highly recommnd them. A great kit and a great business to deal with.

Classis Industries might be "one stop shopping" for heater case kit, body plug kits, wiper pivot seal kits, everything needed. If we assume they acquire the items from various producers like DMT, etc.., we might expect a retail price difference.

As mentioned above BE CAREFUL with box clips. When we redid ours, prior to reassembly we spread clips apart a tad to reduce tension/stress on box.
Good luck

is there a pic/guide as to where the gaskets all go? I'm assembling a car that I didn't disassemble.

I’d never buy anything from Classic I could get somewhere else. Their customer service is lousy and their prices aren’t that great.

DMT is the manufacturer of the heater box rebuild kits, they make all the gaskets and seals in house and everything you need is in the kit. They have great customer service, there’s no reason not to buy straight from DMT.

The DMT kits do come with instructions that have pictures showing all the major components of the box. The picture quality isn’t perfect, but it was good enough for me to walk me through restoring my own heater box. Your other option is a service manual for you car, between the two you should be able to figure it out.

Mancini now sells Detroit muscle products.
I just rebuilt my road runner heater box with the Detroit muscle kit from mancini. Nice products .

The photos in the DMT instructions were all I needed. I made 1 box out of 2 and I didn't disassemble either one. Not difficult at all.

got a scan of those instructions? My kit,I got from Schumacher, didn't have any.

I used the DMT kit and had ripped my box out 25 years prior. Got a replacement box with no pics and it was not very hard to restore. A flat blade screwdriver used correctly goes a long way on the box clips to make it easy. I did have to fix a few issues but found using a star washer and semi hollow tube rivets made it easy.

Used a lot of DMT products overall and was very pleased.
