Rubber tip on the brake rod

Dana67Dart, it is true what you say. Last year I shipped a Viraga pill to a friend and she got the envelope, but it was torn open, and the pill was missing. That is about the same size of the rubber tip. I didn't think of a machine tearing the envelope, I thought someone thought it being a ring or something else valuable.

That is saying a mouth full right there! We (well not me, I don't like coffee) will spend 4-5 bucks on a coffee, EVERYDAY and then complain about shipping!

I used one on my car , put one in my parts drawer and went to the dealrship with the third one giving it to one of the mechanics there that still works on old mopars in hopes that the next owner of a older mopar needing it would be able to get his car fixed and on the road again.
We should all help each other out as much as we can being part of the MOPAR world. And not complain about some small cost like we have here. Heck a beer at a football game costs that much !

Install it into the master cylinder and pop it in place with force. You will not be able to get it out easy and save that ring. So if you have a boot and plastic cover put it on the rod first, usually if the rod came out that easy it had hose on it instead of the proper material ring. .

I am replacing the master cylinder in my project and that rubber bellows has disintegrated. Do you know where I can find a replacement, I haven't been able to find one so far! Thanks in advance!

i think he means the dust bellows at the back of a manual brake master.

It is called a boot. A bellows produces air a boot protects from debris. Its description is not determined by its appearance. I would call it a dust boot. Not a bellows to make air. But then that is me call it what you want

Search master cylinder boot . Or master cylinder bellows, See what pops up.

so....where can you find replacement boots on the plastic plate like the ones shown? mine fell apart when I had to replace my master cylinder....EDIT duh, should have read all 3 pages....

After I posted my message, I found the accordion-like dust boot at an outfit called Mega Parts USA. Not cheap at $33, but when you need one, you need one. L8r

I posted one for $2.69 . I also posted the place where they have metal and plastic holders. If you were in Maple Grove Pa. I'd give you them. But your not.
