Sanding for repaint

I'm getting ready to repaint my duster & am NOT going to strip it.
The paint is a little thicker than I'd like , I was thinking of sanding so as to accentuate all tha body lines.
Hoping to make them more "crisp" & visible .

What to you all think ?

Be very careful to make sure if you go to bare medal that you sand the paint around it to where it will be smooth, if not it will show up in your new paint job. One of the biggest reason I decided to go bare medal on my Dart. And yes, use a good sealer
