Here's a small block bell housing in good shape 3515734. All threads are good with one starter thread a little shallow, see the pics, BUT I threaded it deeper and made a longer stud to engage deeper in the hole. It's good to go. There is a fork that can go with it for an additional $25 , it measures 10 7/8" long , Check out Brewers ad for the applications.
Bell alone $215
With fork $240
Plus shipping from Bristol, Tn. 37620
Thanks FABO

Bell housing Per Brewers site: 10.5″ small block bellhousing cast #3515734 to fit 1972-4 A-body (will also fit 1967-1971 A-body if BSB734 bellhousing ballstud bracket is used) and 1970-4 E-body (except 1970 with reverse lockout linkage) 318/340 3 & 4-speed applications, 4.354″ bearing retainer opening, uses 130 tooth flywheel.

Hey, I can turn down your bearing retainer to fit if the bolt holes are in far enough. I've read about people doing that.
I’ve heard that… might have my buddy turn it on his lathe. But that project is a year out.

The overdrive bearing retainer can't be machined that far. It would leave only .097" to the outside of each bolt hole. Aside from being weak, the heads would overhang anyhow. I've seen people hog out the bellhousing hole, but that leaves very little material between the opening and the bolt holes for the fork pivot. Neither is recommended.

The application is 1972-'76 small-block, all body styles, except overdrive transmission. It can be used on all 1967-'71 models with a 10.5" clutch if the 1968-'71 ballstud/bracket is used (the BSB734 is a reproduction).

Thanks, good info but .097" is plenty in my world, lol. Socket cap screws takes care of any overhang.
