A while back I bought a 64 Valiant Signet. 273/904. I bought it as a running/driving project with the intentions of eventually going to a 360/tf. It currently has 13" wheels and I want to go to aftermarket wheels for the front.(I'm currently looking for an 8 3/4 bbp rear) The only sbp wheels that I can find (That I like) are Cragar 14x6 from Summit with 3 1/2" back spacing. Would this wheel be a good choice? I was hoping to find a wheel a little narrower. 4 1/2- 5" wide. Any suggestions? Also need suggestions on backspacing. I may use fenderwell headers so I'm not sure about the desired backspacing? Kind of an A body rookie here and I do appreciate the advice. Thanks, Litz

If your staying small bolt pattern the choices are very limited i personally have Wheel Vintiques Rally wheels on my 66 Barracuda 14x6 on the front with 205/70/14s and 14x7 on the rear with 245/60/14s when you convert to disk if you use SSBC kit the rotors are drilled for both small n large pattern [that's what i used] ,when you exchange the stock 7 1/4 for an 8 3/4 [or whatever] you'll be a big bolt pattern [small bolt pattern axles are around but hard to find] which makes the search for wheel styles much easier and a better selection have fun with your A Body sir.

litz , run plan steels on my a bodies , 64 barracuda , 69 darts , the 4'' bc is not a easy bolt pattern , have a set of 14 x 7 us indy slot mags all polished up , but that would be the 70's look , have a a body complete rear end drum to drum with a spring package . the rims on the rear end are 15 x 8 x 4''bc i made them for my dart .

Congrats on your 64 Valiant Signet project! When it comes to selecting aftermarket wheels for your vehicle, there are a few factors to consider. The Cragar 14x6 wheels with 3 1/2" backspacing could be a suitable choice, but if you prefer a narrower wheel, there are options available.

For a narrower wheel, you can explore options in the 4 1/2" to 5" width range. Many aftermarket wheel manufacturers offer various sizes and backspacing options for A body vehicles like the Valiant. Brands such as American Racing, Vintage Wheel Works, and Wheel Vintiques might have suitable options.

Regarding backspacing, it depends on the specific setup and modifications you plan to make. Fenderwell headers could affect the desired backspacing, as they require additional clearance. It would be best to consult with experienced Valiant enthusiasts or a knowledgeable mechanic who has experience with A body vehicles and fenderwell headers. They can provide guidance on the appropriate backspacing to ensure proper fitment and clearance.

Remember, each wheel's offset and backspacing can affect the stance, handling, and tire clearance of your vehicle, so it's crucial to choose carefully based on your specific requirements and modifications.

Good luck with your project, and I hope you find the perfect wheels for your Valiant Signet! and in my point of view american racing wheels is best option for this website

Back in ~1974, I had a 65 Valiant SW with a 340 in it, and Hooker fenderwell headers were the only choice. It barely turned corners with the factory 13s on it.
Today there are better choices.
IIRC Hooker makes an under chassis for SBMs that has five pipes going down in the usual way, and just 3 in total going thru the aprons. Those would be my Choice.
5204 is a number that I seem to recall.
Get your exhaust sorted BEFORE you start working on your project as the Hookers may not work on all heads, all transmissions or all steering boxes.
After you get that sorted, find an oilpan that fits your chassis.
I would leave the body work for last, cuz there may be sheetmetal mods required to fit the wheels and tires.
