Scampin!!!!!!

imo a hemi scoop will NOT suit that car...it needs fatter tires and more of a drag race look....a snorkel scoop may look ok, but i would just leave the hood orange...are you going to lower the back of the car?

Orange is out of the question. As far as tires go Im almost at the limit. Theres not much room back there without rubbing going on. Im seriously kicking myself in the *** for not mini tubbin it while i had it apart but we will see. I like the way it sits now. Im a fan of a little "rake" on the car. Im still undecided about the scoop but i have plenty of things to do to keep me busy until i make up my mind.

yoo its not even funny how ecxcat our cars look LOLL.. yoo i need help with my windshielddd i can get mine inn !!!!!!!!! its being a real bastarttttttddddd

she would have looked sweet minitubbed, but you can always do the offset spring hangers...that with the right set of wheels that have proper backspace will allow you to run a 275/60/15 on there, which is a good lookin size on a dart....and not sure if you know, i know you like the rake on your car, but if you ever do decide to lower it just a tad in the rear, you can flip the front spring hangers and that will bring the ride height down some....lookin good so far! oh, and i say just to be different for a scoop, put on the old max wedge ones...i think they look cool on abodies!

Wow, you make me feel like crap when I look at your build compared to my 74 Dart build.

You just bought the car at the beginning of the year, and it looked worse than mine did when I bought it last summer, and you've already got yours painted and practically done!

Congrats to you on a good looking build!
I am gearing up for some work on my Dart over the summer, but even then, I'm not sure if it'll be as nice as your car come the end of the summer.

don't worry bout it sneke, everyone works at their own pace, some people would take 3 years to get as far as varlo has, don't sweat it just make sure you enjoy it no matter what your car looks like!!

sneke eyez: Thanks for the kind words on my build i appreciate it. As long as you have the drive and determination you will achieve what you want with your project to. I went a little overboard and this turned into an obsession! I am by no means done i still need to find a driver door panel which seems pretty much impossible. And i need to put my 8-3/4 so by the time im done with that you will be catchin up with me:cheers:

HAHAAAAAAAAAAA .. im all registerd and insuredddddd !!!!!!!!!!!!!but i had slight trans problemss,, i need a manual vavle body but this will be done with by hopefully monday =)

Thanks Kelsey, YO angelo you gotta pm me with who u did your insurance and all that with. I need all the information. Thanks

I cant believe its been just over year Ive had it. My scamp has come a long way. This is by far the biggest project i have ever thrown myself into and doing what i can with the little money I have on weekends and after work/school it is really remarkable. Just wanted to rant I have pics to upload shortly.

First off, great car! I cant imagine moving at the pace you are moving at and at your age and experience level. Your work is inspirational. Keep it up.

Excellent work!!! Your car looks great and my hat is off to you for the pace and quality of workmanship. Very inspirational!! What rear springs are you running? I like the car's stance.

thanks for your kind words i really appreciate it. 4spdcuda66 as far as the rear springs go I am not sure they are. The only thing I do know is that they are VERY stiff. I will be addressing that issue when i put my 8-3/4 in

Well its been a while since ive updated with pics. Between working hard in college and bringing those A's home and working part time I haven't had much time to work on my mopar like i used to. Its a shame and I hate it but part of growing up is knowing how to prioritize my objectives. finally got the quarter panel extensions on along with the trunk lid. The lid is on there just for over the winter I am not happy with the body work on that there are some dimples that need to be addressed before she becomes road worthy. Hood is blacked out but that will be seeing more paint as well. For christmas i got some new door panels, brand new headliner and sail panels so I can move into the interior and button that up! Also i threw in a pic of my little brothers 1970 340 duster all numbers matching and original from the original owner! My dad originally bought it for the 8-3/4 rear and the 340 but we cant chop it up. It has 1 year bucket seats and a center console. Plans are to restore it. Take the drivetrain out for my dads 67 cuda and put a 225 with a 3 speed in the duster for my little brother who is only 15. Some purists will hate me but its the right thing to do for my little bro. Well I hope you guys enjoy my scamp and the newest member to our stable of mopars in the driveway. Were up to 4 now! my scamp, 67 cuda,65 cuda, and 70 duster. This is getting out of control! Comments and criticism are welcome. Let me know what you think

Just read the whole thread and following along inspires me to work on my dart, but it is storage for the winter, and have no access to it, oh well, I want to say what a wonderful job you have done on the Scamp, especially in the time period you have do it in. Wonderful job and keep up the good work and post up some more of them pics

that rear bumperette on the duster is ungodly large!

that rear bumperette on the duster is ungodly large!

Are they off of a dumptruck or what. Large nothing they are huge!

But you are an inspiration having your priorities in order and still getting it done. Nice Scamp, cool color! Keep us posted, I hope you are in the young guns contest!

Wait a minute - a 70, 340, number matching Duster and your Dad is taking it apart to put the eng & rear in another car? Shame on your Dad. Tell him to re-evaluate and look for an eng & rear in the salvage yard and restore/rest-o-mod the Duster. Rant complete. JMHO

I think he meant taking out the 340 and swapping in a /6 for his little brother. I think it is really responsible not letting a 16 year old have a 340, let him learn to drive the Slanty first then make him work and save and get good grades for the 340.

I agree w/the 6 and the youngster. But I could swear he said his dad bought the original 340 car to put the eng & rear in an old Cuda` - say it ain't so . . .

Just kidding at this point original or not the Duster's really weren't that popular with everyone (I like them) and not many folks would really pay much for an all original restored car anyway. So enjoy whatever as long as it's fun and no one gets hurt.

yea I think you misunderstood. The 340 my old man will be taking and the /6 will be going in there due to the fact that it will be my 16 little brothers first car.

wow its been so long since ive updated my thread. Im finishing up college and graduate next month! So ive been busy with that and now my mind is focused on finishing up the scamp! heres some pics of when i had her on the lift to clean up the underside, fix up some rot in the framerail and reundercoat the whole bottom of the car. Let me know what you guys think. I need some small misc interior pieces as well so check out my thread and lemme know what ya got. As you can see the exhaust hangs in the rear, but hey it is what it is for now. When i get the money to put my 8-3/4 in ill do the exhaust. The carb isnt running the greatest and now all i really need is an alignment, tags, insurance, and seatbelts. Im sure theres more im forgetting but you get the idea. HOMESTRETCH!!!
