School me on bird bath hoods….interchangability.

I have a 79 Red Express that needs a new hood (rust along leading edge).
Being new to this model/brand I am getting conflicting answers. I have been told only 79/80 will fit the 79. The hood I currently have, that IS original to the truck, is not the b.b. but the flat hood. From what I know 72 to 78 used bird bath, 79 and up used flat hood.
Is there a difference between American and Canadian builds ?
I know there is a difference on years the hood latch on using 80s hoods.
While the bird bath style is “cool” and I grew up with looking over that style I recognize some short comings with its design and water issues.
Short question is what hood will fit my 79 ?

Just the '79 and '80 models including the RamCharger and Trailduster. You can convert to a '72-8 hood if you also use the '72-8 cowl and wiper transmission.
