I bought my ‘69 Barracuda five years ago. It was a drag car but I made it streetable and now just do car shows/cruises. Trying to locate any previous owner who might have detail of the engine build. I know this is a long shot, but thought I’d give it a try. Thanks.

Is that the color when you purchased it? Pretty tough locating past owners without a bit more of a back story. Drag car from where? What motor? What class? What State?

It is basically the way I purchased it. I have no detail about its drag life. It’s a very stout 340 that has obviously been worked for the strip. My point was that I have no idea about the internals and was hoping someone might recognize it by sight. I bought it from a collection of a local car dealer who took it on a trade for a vintage Cadillac also in his collection. I contacted that guy and he said he had it on his car lot, but no build details. I do know it was for sale at Mecum/Harrisburg in 2015.

Found where it was For Sale on Mecum. Someone built a beast.

It’s very quick. Of all the streetcars I’ve owned over the past 30 years, this one is head and shoulders above the others when it comes to performance.
540 hp in a 3200 pound (?) car is no laughing matter. lol

I might very well be a 416 instead of a 340...lol. Maybe contact Mecum and see if they have any history....and willing to share it if they do. Nice car, for sure! Do you bring it to the Rockingham and/or Farmington Mopar shows?

Thanks. I contacted Mecum and they said they wouldn’t have any info that could help me out. Because of the build and 4.10’s I stay within about 30 miles of home for shows and cruises. No trailer, so my options are limited.
