I just pulled a 360 magnum out of a half ton truck today and I would like to use the serpentine belt set up. Motor is going on. 67 dart and it doesn’t have AC or power steering so won’t need those. Has anyone done this or is it pointless since all I need to run is the water pump and alternator? If anyone has done this, please let me know what I need to do and a source for parts if you know it. Thanks.

If you are going to run the "magnum" timing cover/serp belt set-up. Know this. There is no place for the fuel pump to mount. No hole. .You must run electric. The water pump is a reverse rotation unit. Standard pump will not work. You must use a new Nippendenso type alternator......

I pulled the engine from a running truck so I have the original water pump and alternator I hope to use.

If you click on my avatar, then "photo Garage' you can see my set up using all factory serpentine pieces and mounts except for the underdrive pully on the water pump.

I don’t see any pictures in your photo garage.

click on the box with the photo of my car. Then a black rectangle will show up. Within that are a few different highlighted
items. You will see "photo Garage". click on that and the pictures will show up.

You are running AC aren’t you? All I will be running is the alternator and the water pump.

Professor fate has the answer. I would go with his info.
I run a/c due to hot summers and a black car.

That's why you'd run the Dorman a/c delete pulley, everything else is as he shows.
Dorman 34178.
Anybody have a picture of this being used? Would I still have to use the big factory aluminum mount that the AC was mounted to?

Non ac bracket. No ac or power steering. Has a hemi grooved idler pulley.

The tensioner looks to be installed backwards. Or is just a wrong install. It is supposed to put tension against the belt so that at high RPMS the belt can still be kept tight. Your setup would let the belt come loose under RPM.

Looks like a R/H tensioner instead of a L/H like Leo say's would also aim for more wrap on the Alternator pulley it may squeal under load

Why is the exhaust exiting to the front?
He’s running a twin turbo set up. Does it really matter? The point of his post was to show me what he did for a serpentine set up. He didn’t ask for opinions or criticism.

Not being critical, just asking. I do not run turbos.
Also, I have a extra mount like the one he is showing.

No issues as installed

My 04 hemi truck has the same amount of belt wrap. No issues and charges fine. Everything is thought out and packaged for turbo downpipe to fit. Will be changing the setup in fall but works really well.

@dusted, or anyone else. Do you happen to know if the non-A/C bracket moves the alternator clockwise away from the valve covers, or is it in the same position as the A/C bracket. Tying to figure out how to have clearance for larger valve covers here. Thanks.

I have a non/ A/C bracket that I can compare the setup next to my A/C unit and let you know tomorrow.
