so im installing my crankshaft..im following the "how to rebuild small block book"

so on the third bearing theres a clearance of .002-.007 they say shhot for .004...

the crank spins nice bolts hand tight but my problem is i cant .006 on either side of the journal...WHAT THE THE HELL...NOTHING IR RUBBING SPINS NICE.

I TAPED IT ON BOTH SIDES TRYING TO GET SO KIND OR CLEARANCE...NOTHTING

NOTHING IS RUBBING ..ANY HELP PLEASE:banghead:

Bolts only hand tight may be the problem because unless you torque them down the main caps may be out of alignment. I know you said it spins fine but remember how small the clearance is your trying to measure.

Sorry, but I don't understand what is going on. Could you possibly take a few minutes and write it a little better? I can't tell what's wrong...

Could this be a good opportunity for some of the pros to write an explanation on how to set thrust and maybe make it a sticky?
