SFT vs Roller improvements

Just a little bit...

What cylinder head?

Gonna switch out my SFT [email protected]"-110(180*@.200) for a solid roller [email protected]"-108(190*@.200). 511 12.5:1 in a 3400# street car ran a best of 10.06@134 with a single 1100 Dominator. Think the new roller with pick up any?
I cannot find the cam card for the solid roller so I will have to go with my best recollection. We made the switch on a 440 with EZ heads flowing 350cfm @ .600".

1st) Solid roller 270/270 @ .050 105 LSA and .620 lift plus 1.6 rockers (655 HP @ 6,500rpm)

2nd) XE285HL 241/247 @ .050 110 LSA .545/.545, plus 1.6 rockers, hydraulic flat tappet using solid tappets, and dropped to 595 HP @ 6,500 rpm.

You're starting with a much bigger flat tappet cam. So will you see anything like the 60 HP we found?

The flat tappet is so good, it will be hard to beat by much with a solid roller.

You should run at the track with your T Ram first. Much easier test and cost less too.
Yes, that is the plan. Will run it in the spring and hopefully get another paper trophy. Switch out the cam during the hot summer months i dont drive the car and run it again in the fall to again get another paper trophy.

Yes I think you will realize a difference, the Tighter LSA and much faster ramps will help you in the mid torque, will probably pick up about 25. Keep us posted

Are you saying it might pick up .25 or 2.5?
About 25hp
Perhaps 1 to 2 tenths on the track, Keep in mind that you have to absolutely be more meticulous with maintenance, Solid rollers are more sensitive to bounce when they need adjustments and seen one too many scrapped lifters because of it. I don't mean to scare you but reality is what it is, Not to say they aren't good but they do need more attention

I currently have a SFT and have found no additional maintenance except a lash check every spring. Not really afraid of the roller at all. Thanks
