So my HOA says I can add a Shed to my property.

The major restriction is 100 sqft
So the question for the day is...

10x10
9x11
8x12.5

I feel like 10x10 would be the best shape for a shop with blast cabinet, storage, press, drill press, maybe a small part paint booth, grinder.

I can see in my head that rectangular might make better use of the space inside by providing a longer wall .

What say you?

Go with high walls for more storage space if they don't have restrictions on height. My town doesn't restrict so I have a 10x14 wit 8' walls and high peak.
Maybe 12 overall.

ugh, dealt with those property Nazis in Nevada. Squealers, snitches, authoritarian Bullys. Go once and Go big. 10x10 or you'll regret it.

Here is what happened to me . I asked what size shed can I build they told me the same thing. The question you need to ask is what size temporary shed with floor can you have delivered. If its delivered its not permanent.I just had to conform with the set backs. I now have 5 sheds 12x24 and three 24 ft.race car trailers. You don't need a permit for those rented storage containers. Some people put them right in their driveway. Or connect your shed to your house as a porch.

Is the shed in addition to your garage? If so place it next to the garage and run air lines from the compressor in the shed to the garage. Somebody tipped me off to this when I built a parts shed, and I move my compressor out of my garage. It makes a huge difference!

Build it as tall as possible to have a loft for storage and a basement for a man cave!!!

I also added a covered "car port" built off the side for added storage.

I'd go 8x12.5
Two 30" benches on the long walls would leave a 36" wide center, and give longer benches. Less space wasted on a center walkway.
Maximum height as suggested by others is a good idea. Tall enough to incorporate a mezzanine would be great.

I built one out back, ( not mine) then added water, in 3/4", and hard lines for air quick connects, all w/ separate area of use valves

That's nice!
Man, I drove from Hillsborough to Pinellas, then out to Polk, even Sarasota / Manatee to build for Florida Shed Company 20 years ago. The 2 pallets of wood were in the driveway, I'd run em back, unload my tools, and build em. Slam the subfloor, walls. Do lunch, built the trusses, swing em and deck the roof. Then shingles, and trim boards. Some were really nice..first on was a big *** barn in Bartow. A ramp was added, when done the homeowner blasted 2 Harleys up in it. That was cool! It was alot of hard work, wear and tear on your truck, you supplied all your own Fasteners, Blades, Ect + a 10-99

If 10x10 is the biggest you can build, you will NOT be happy with it. I have a 12x16, and wish I had gone a bit bigger

I thought about extending the garage back into the backyard and adding a basement under it. That way I would have a clean place to park the dart, a full 10x25 to store parts and a full 10x 25 shop. But the 30 to 40,000 it would cost, i might as well just put that directly into the dart

How bout a killer carport?

How bout a killer carport
HOA!

You can't even park your car on the driveway for an extended time.

I had a car 92 Chevy lumina M85 car. Bent valves from a timming chain loss. I was debating fixing or donating. I fixed the timming chain only after to find that I had 0 psi on 2 cylinders. It would start and I could move it under its own power but I could not get it smogged so the registration lapsed, in CO there is no such thing a cert of non op. You can request an extension ( and you have to show proof of insurance) then let the registration expire but you have to pay about 100.00 fine when you do register it.
It sat on the driveway for a few months. I would turn it around every so often so it would look used. Well the HOA gestapo saw the expired registration and sent me a letter.

It was ok, as I had decided to donate it anyway, they just made me get off my butt and get it done.

Ok, access to back yard
Not really. There is a greenbelt between our yard an the houses behind us, I break the law from time to time, and drive down it to drop off yard stuff, brick mulch etc.

I'm just waiting to get a letter for doing that.

I would love to move 1 hour north to Wyoming, and get a piece of property but that's not in the cards right now.

Ugh, man, they Are Militant noseys, ain't they? They should police themselves, and not Yall! I'm sure You Folks are settled there, but I'm leaning towards Robs Recommendation! I solve problems like that for people quite a bit, the addition sounds good.... but I Love the way Ya think! 3 or 4 x 10k in an A would be mean! And, realistically, that #, for an addition, with the current prices, you would have to grab some friends and put your tools on. ...unless ya know someone
