ive got all the linkages and levers now for my 73 Duster. Can somebody show me a nice pic of the entire linkage. This is a non overdrive unit. Google produced a bunch of Frankenstein rods people have made or overdrive units. Thanks Guys.

I got it all on. Man it shifts like butter on the bench. Surprised how smooth it all is considering this is all new to me. Regreased and cleaned shifter. All seems good. I lined up all of the shifter holes and set the rod lengths. The one concern I have is that the reverse rod is coming up short on the reverse adjuster. Not sure what to think of this. Shifts as it should. Just like a few more threads in that puppy.

Seems the reverse rod may be a bit short or the slot in the tab is off a couple degrees. As long as you have at least 1 to 1-1/2 times the diameter thread engagement you should be good. Clearance for the cross member can be a concern.

It’s probably no more than 2 turns in from flush. I don’t understand what the deal is. Shifts like it should. Just strange.

That looks like enough thread engagement, I wouldnt be concerned. Possibly the arm is slightly bent but if its working I would leave it as is.

It all works very nicely. Feels like it should. Pretty simple operation for my first 4 speed assembly. Thanks gents.

Don't forget, you can adjust 1-2 and 3-4 rod lengths a bit once in the car and rolling (if even necessary) as long as the gate allows it.

I’ll do a build thread. Converting to a V8,4 speed, disc with an 8.75 swap too. 4 of us are gonna knock it out. Not sure how long it will take but with 4 of us perhaps a week. Maybe less without hacking it.

If there is any angle to the slot it could move the pivot closer to or further from the shifter. Straight up and down will do nothing.

First picture.
If this is showing the reverse rod, this rod is not bolted to the reverse shifter leaver, but rather the 3-4 leaver.
Reverse shifter leaver is the longer one in the background...

First picture is just showing the alignment of the levers with the index hole. Second, that swivel won’t go in like that in reverse anyway. It won’t let you do it. Two different hole sizes. Thanks.
