Shift rod bushings and clips

I was searching for some replacement shift rod clips and came across this. Hurst Steel Shifter Bushing Clips for Mopar A833 Competition Plus 4-Speed Dodge | eBay
Do the bushings slide into the rod ends, taking up any "slack" in the shift plate/shifter hole?

Thanks, that kit has 7, so the others must go into the shifter? Wonder why 7, there are only 3 rods (6 holes)

Correct. I forgot about that end. LOL I don't know about the extra one. Maybe in case of a feck up? lol
