OK, here is my dilemma:

My car is originally a 318/904 column shift combo.

Now it is a 360/518 combo. I have aquired a floorshift steering column and center console with shifter, but no linkage to the trans.

Is there any difference between the 904 and 727 floor sift linkages, or are they the same? Will they fit on a 518, or am I in uncharted territory? Since the 518 was a truck transmission, I know they would be all column shift, so would I have to stick with a 727 linkage and modify as needed?

I know for a fact that you can pull a floor shift 904 and replace it with a column shift 727, no problems with a floor shifter. The shift arm is in the same place on both trannies. Should work for a 518 as well since it is nothing more than a 727 with a Gear Vendors overdrive built into the tailhousing (I know it's oversimplifying things a bit). Hope this helps.
