Shiny Primer

-
Iv noticed it too. I kinda like it tho. I saw a newer charger 392 that was like a matte black with black rims and black tint. Idk if it was factory or custom but it looked sharp!! I actually really like those chargers and challengers in that primer grey. My buddy has a Tacoma in that color and it's sharp. I do agree they should offer an array of colors but I personally like the dull greys and matter blacks. Lol what I don't like is this new faux patina. I don't mind a real patina its a survivor car but to take a good paint job and make it look patina or to repaint a car in a patina is over my head. I don't like it but each to their own.

This is one of the few cars I think looks good in silver/grey/whateveryouwannacallit. I think Ford calls it metallic pewter.

Somebody on here just had thier Duster painted that shiny primer color. I'm undecided on what I think of the color. Interested to see what that Duster looks like when finished as I feel this color needs something to break it up...

It was a nice looking job too. I'm just not nuts about the color. Maybe it'll grow on me.

I love that color
Me too. My top five are burnt orange, Winchester grey, sassy grass, petty blue, b5 blue, and a tie between plum crazy and vitamin c. Then white. I guess I need to make it a top 10! Bahahaha

Here are a few more examples I love it! I think its super sexy especially on ebodys not sure how I would like it on an A tho.

It does look good on Bs and Es. Here's my hangup with colors.....when somebody paints an early A in a high impact color, for instance, "to me" it doesn't look as good as the years those colors were intended for. The early cars had more "grandma" colors, if you will. Those colors looked good on those early cars, too. Like with my car, I was going to paint it some shade of red, but I believe I've settled on the original white, with some custom stuff I want to do. It'll just end up a better look, I believe. IMO, certain year models and body shapes look better in some colors than others.....if that makes any sense.

I actually don't mind the drab gray colors of today.
I's kinda growing on me like moss........

Subi's have that crap earthtone scheme going but every Subi owner is a nutty crunchy person. I saw a last gen Corvette in a flat gold metallic, it was very nice. I dont know how you would keep it clean but this one looked garage kept 100%. almost looked like a chalkboard texture but I didnt get close enough to touch it. I see nothing but silver tone SUV's around here. Count how many orange or yellow cars you see today, probably on one hand. Challengers exempt as those seem to be the only unique bright colors on the road today.

I agree I think some colors just don't fit. I don't like the high impact 70s colors on early 60s. It just looks out of place. Same goes with the bumpers painted the same color as the car on later 70s

What a great looking Mopar. Is that car glossy? It almost looks matte. I like it either way.
Im not sure if that is an original paint job or not but im sure in 1971 that they wasn't super glossy. I absolutely love that color I may paint my cuda that color just because I like it so much lol I kinda would like to keep it the original color but man I love that Winchester grey!

It's either original paint, or a repaint with the original finish in mind. I'm like you. I don't like them extra glossy like base/clear. I much prefer the single stage look.
