shipping heads?

How do you guys get shipping quotes for cylinder heads? I used the ups website and it said something like $200+ which i find hard to believe.

Shipping something like that, I would call the couriers instead of using the net. They might have to be strapped to a skid.

They steel? Can ship an entire motor for not much more than what you stated....

Yes their cast iron heads, ill call monday and get an exact quote on them then.

This is the very reason why some stuff ends up getting scrapped.......just saying....

I got heads shipped to me in real sturdy card board boxes cost about $40.00 a box (one head)
Just received 2 heads from Hughes racing,2 boxes $75.00 freight UPS ground.
I shipped a /6 head to California from Texas that I built a wood crate for FedEx ground for $67.00.
Some of your UPS store will box it for you for some extra money.

Thats part of why i priced them so cheap, i knew shipping was gonna be a killer and i dont want to scrap them because they are good. I would rather give them away than scrap. Or atleast sell for scrap price lol
