Someone from England is considering making a bid to purchase my Valiant. I wonder how much he/she would have to pay to ship it there from California. Anyone have experience with the cost of such an arrangement? Thank you, just curious for now (shipping responsibility of the buyer).

I sold a car to France a couple of years ago. I don’t think it’s crazy…maybe a couple thousand.

Most importers try to fill a shipping container. That's the best bang for their buck. Money is no object to some people.

To the UK is relatively easy. They have a 5% flat VAT on cars 30 years or older.

Are you going to take it the port yourself or does it need shipped from you to probably Boston.

You're in Mexico so does the car have a paper to Mexico or is it registered in the U.S. only?

Probably $3000-$5000 to get it over. It's been my experience that most Europeans are so used to paying exorbitant taxes and fees, and everything is so much more expensive on their side of the pond, that they hardly blink at something like that. Just part of being in the game.

I know it averages about 4 to 5 thousand aud to get a car from the USA to Australia

That's not your worry. It's on the buyer.
