Hi,
I am wondering if I should keep my Dad's 1983 lebaron convertible.
It's a cool car but I'm not sure if I'm really gonna ride it and do the upkeep.
What do you think?
It's in good shape

Welcome to FABO. A few photos would be nice so we can comment.

I'm wondering what the car looks like.
(added a few minutes later)
I had a 1988 Lebaron Convertible with the 2.2 turbo engine. It was red with the grey interior. I had it for 13 years, and I loved that car. Keep it only if you are willing to properly maintain it. Otherwise, let someone else enjoy it.

Welcome to the forum!
My dad bought my mom one of these in the early 90s.

It was a decent car. 2.2, automatic with the talking computer. Dad died and mom wanted something more practical so I sold it for her. While I had it, I liked driving a convertible but the car felt more aimed to women and effeminate men. I am neither of those things.

Welcome!

If you have to ask others whether or not to sell a car, then you really don't want to keep it. Slap a sign on it and wave goodbye.

Did it used to belong to Jon Voight by any chance?

...or John Voight?

Ima thinking 273V8, 5-speed M/T, probably frame-connectors, N50s, and slapper bars.
I'ma cutting a hole in the hood for fresh air.
It will get headers if it kills me.
The shifter will be on the floor.
The rear end will be custom.
The interior will NOT be red, nor green, nor white, nor yellow, nor blue. so, Ima guessing tan or black
oh, and it's getting a deck-spoiler, an airdam, and maybe skirts, and one of those chrome deck-racks with oil-rubbed walnut inserts. and a cupholder.
and kidney-slot wheels.
and headlight wipers.
And an 8-track player, lol.

If yur not thinking what Ima thinking, then IDK, are you still a HotRodder? lol

100%!!!!!!!!

Perfect idea!

Ewe , the dreaded wood !
Kind of a charming car otherwise.
If you keep it and have a bunch of other cars it is hard to drive them all enough to justify.
I know this all to well.

Convertibles make nice second cars.

...and that should get fairly good MPG with today's gas prices.
