This Yellow cactus flower popped up and bloomed on mothers day for me :happy1:
I think one of my own best pictures I have took in a long time :smile:
This is just one of many foods I have growing here on the hill

From my other thread...My second go at lightning photography. Canon 30D and Tamron 17-50 @ 17 on a $30 Targus tripod. f/9, ten-second exposure, ISO200. Camera was set to lock up the mirror before the shot and a cable release was used.

More of my mothers day home alone, I store my fish in a large pond :glasses7:
This was all I needed for my lunch :smile:
Filet and baked with butter/salt pepper and a touch of lemon.

Baked Crappie/Croppie/Spec.. Fresh yummyum :cheers:

Can it be car related? Here is a seat frame I built from scratch that I finished today... and a couple of welds from the project. I need a lot more work but my welding is getting better.

Nice pictures guys, the flower is beautiful and so are those welds!!!The lightning is just awesome too, and dem der fish look mighty purdy, wish I was right there with ya Mike, I'd love a fish sandwich for lunch!!

I have to admit the 4 filets sure was tasty :smile:

I just brought Buddy in for a few minutes for a treat and let him set next to me a bit before he goes back outside for the night :glasses7: and as you can see Boogy had to have her attention also as soon as I got home tonight

This one was taken with a 'free' lens off an old Mamiya Sekor, all manual all the time, 55mm, f1.8, and the body was my old Canon Xt (350D)

This is my favorite, taken with a lens that was supposed to be broken. The AF was incorrect, but I was able to correct the focus in the Canon 7D menu, something you cannot do with the old Xt, 30D, or 40Ds This lens is so old it was built before DSLRs, it was designed for the EF mount film cameras, and cost over 5 grand new. I paid less than 500 bucks for it This was shot handheld. Because of my arthritis and shake, I am forced to use very high shutter speeds and therefore cannot capture "prop blur."

This ain't me, just shows ya how darn huge this big 'ol club really is. Ya. It's heavy

I was talking to Small block on the phone and seen an opportunity to take a picture of my Avocado tree I started by seed :glasses7:
Took a picture of my back door deck area, what a beautiful morning :cheers:
My Japanese maple is already putting out seeds :happy8:

Not as sharp/crisp as my last lightning pic, but here's one from tonight's storm...

I started out taking pics while set up in my driveway before the rain started, but I actually chased the storm to get more pics...This was parked in a pizza joint's lot east of town, facing south...I was sitting in the back of my Wrangler with the rear windows out. I got quite wet while sitting in the Jeep, but I knew I would and I was rewarded for my efforts. Ten decent shots in an hour's worth of lightning shooting isn't too bad.

That's a prickly pear flower. The fruit it bares is tasty.
Ours wouldn't flower this early though. I guess yours is a warmer climate.

Yes Prickly Pear flowers are taisty, when the flower falls it's time to harvest, we had well over 20 in the last couple weeks already
It's been in the 90'es all this week and these are on a hill (rock and sand base) and they seem too like it.

Pictures Creed sent me from Spain, They will be playing with Molley Hatchet tonight.
I have never been to Spain :coffee2: but my youngest son has been there 2 times now :cheers:
They took the time to visit a Winery and he said he has a bottle of wine for me when he gets back home, I think he still has 9 days in Spain with the band on tour

I am so happy for the band :cheers:
