The best free car show I have attended and better then many I have paid for. A lot of Mopars and quite a few A-Bodies. Here are some photos. Many of you will recognize this one.

And some more. I'll call the first one Wrinkle Wall Slicks. (sorry)

There was some serious muscle at the show and some fantastic Nostalgia Race Cars.

This one is allegedly Don Carlton's first 68 Hemi Cuda and so it seems to be. It was very cool and the condition reminded me of my own 69. Wow, what a lot of racing history here. I need to learn more about the Drag Racing Hall of Fame there, since it is almost in my back door yard.

Okay, this Very Nice Notchback really caught my eye. He was not familiar with FABO, so encouraged him to sign up. This car is very well done and he did most of the work himself except the paint. Pictures don't do it justice. Yes that's a modern 5.7.

Here are a couple of Non-A-bodies that I loved.

Now for Non-Mopars, sorry but I'm a sucker for the cool and the unique. The AMC looked just like my buddie's son's car, until I saw the chebby (gag) under the hood.
The coupe just took me back to the the 1/4 sized hot rod magazines you young guns have never even seen :)

Hate I missed it. That area has a lot of history with the Sox and Martin team so I figured they'd have those cars there. Saw that Hurri-Cain II at an all Mopar show in Charlotte. Mopar Muscle was there and did an article on it. It was sweet. Glad to see such a great show in the area.

One More Non-Mopar. This car was built by the grandfather and his grandson. Grandpa passed shortly after and the grandson now has the roadster. Again, it is very cool old school. That flathead purrs like a kitten. Traditional Rod and Kulture magazine is doing a feature and was shooting the car. What a fun day for me. Talked to the young owner and the photog from the magazine.

Falston1, wish you could have been there, it was a great show. Maybe next year? The Hurri-Cain II was really unique, but there was so much cool stuff there. Wish I had gotten more pictures, but honestly, it was difficult with the crowd and I hate to sound like a whiner, but the sun and shading just weren't that cooperative. Guess mother nature didn't consult me :) Anyway, I had a blast.

I hate that I missed it too. I was going to go last year too and couldn't make it. This year I figured it might be a great venue to find a buyer for my car - but still didn't make it.. Maybe next year.

I'll definitely put it in my calender for next year. I ended up at a diesel truck show and truck pull at Piedmont Dragway, but couldn't pay for the gas to drive the full 3 hours to Henderson. Glad to see you enjoying NC 8)
