Show Us Pictures of 2nd Generation Barracudas

-
This car got me into barracudas when I was a kid.He used to race against my brother. His name is kenny Montgomery

Hey DartCuda1!

Good to hear from you again. Very sweet car - And even cooler story!

Thanks for posting the pictures and story...

Which brings up the question -Why do we all have a love for 2nd Gen Barracudas??????

So let's hear from the viewers - What caused you to fall in love with the 2nd Gen fish?

My story is real simple:

1) I have read Hot Rod since 1964. I followed the Super Stock & Altered Wheelbase drag racing in the mag and we all know Mopar ruled it. In 67/68/69 the pictures of the 2nd Gen fish drew me in.

2) My favorite Hot Wheels was my Purple 2nd gen. I still have the car although it has been well used and has a little wear and tear on it. But it is still a numbers matching car - LOL!

3) Finally, driving my drag car fully completed my love of 2nd Gen fish

Let us hear your stories....

Wow! That brown fish you posted pics of is the cleanest Fish I think I have ever seen! Someone spent some serious time and money on that one!

MaSnart, what year/month/mag is that article "Barracuda on the Line"? Is it a 340, 383 or 440 car? I collect all mags that have 2nd gen Bcudas/cudas 340, 383 or 440. Not really sure if i have that one? Also collect any mags with '69 440 A-body cars. I just finally got a '69 mag with with a road/drag test on the 440 Dart for a reasonable price! It's on its way in the mail now! Dave

Haha that picture you posted of The older lady In front of the orange notch is a reall good friend of mine! Judy's car has a 426 Hemi in it also. And that green duster in the back is my sisters car and that is my 69 A100 van :)

Small world out there. I love the color of your friend's fish. Do you know what the specs are on the color?

I also like what I can see of your van. Must take you a half a day to clean all those windows! - LOL!

Judy is definitely some woman, running a great looking fish packing a Hemi...

Not sure as I shot the picture a while ago from my collection of mags. I will have to go back thru them to answer your questions.

Wow! Nice catch!

That car looks to be in really good shape. Is it original? Any plans for it or drive and enjoy it as is?

Thanks,
So far it seems to be about 95% original with the exception being Kelsey Hayes disc brakes up front. (I'm good with that). My plans are to keep this car a sleeper and see what I can do on a strict budget. I'll widen the stock steel wheels for a little better stance and performance and eventually upgrade the rear to a 8.25. As for the /6, I just had it rebuilt and with the gas prices the way the are I'll run it like that for awhile. Although future plans could see a S/B stroker between the fenders.
You can see my 66 Fury VIP here. No strict budget on that build.
