Agree, but better then nothing. The pics are off the net and I have no idea on the tire specs...

i finished my 68 this past spring and it's about 99% done. details include: 340 4sp 3:91, hurst comp plus, 750 holley dp, original acrylic laquer turbine bronze, red plastic fender well liners, AM/FM radio, rear window defrost blower, map light, to be added - power steering OEM power disc brakes, side stripes, OEM radiator.

I think I see red wheel well liners in the pic above. That's another part(s) I dream of owning.

Ma, thank you for the New Years present! You just found my old car for me. It was featured in the October 1992 Musclecar Review. That was actually shortly after I sold it. My buddy wrote the article and it took over a year before they published it. It was bought by a guy from Akron Ohio. He was planning on painting it black. All of the options match.

Telltale signs are:

It had just turned over 50,000 miles when I sold it, now its listed as having 55,000.

Radio delete car from the factory.

The bumper guards were dealer installed and placed where the inner bumper bolts were, so they are closer together than stock.

I checked the other pictures on the dealer's website and I can see the black plastic plugs inside the doors in the rockers where the car was Ziebarted when it was new.

Here is a picture from the MCR shoot. If I can find the article I will post more.

Thanks again, I always wondered what happened to that car.

Nice car. 5,000 miles in 22+ years! You going to make a run at it? I'm sure you could call them to verify the VIN.

Ma - were the red liners there to help reduce salt corrosion?
 
No, too rich for my blood at $30K. The car was as tight as a brand new car when I had it. I put on a new stock exhaust system, and tuned it up. I also detailed the engine bay. It was covered with Ziebart rustproofing. The motor had never been touched, and it ran 14.25 at 99 mph with 3.23 gears. I got the urge to go faster and I didn't want to start messing with it because it was so original. Kind of sad to see they really didn't clean it up well, and that the seat covers are now split. A little elbow grease and some legendary covers and it would look great.
