Show Your Big Block A body!

Thanks man. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the compliment. I have a Weiand Team G and a 4500 Dominator so that combo alone is a little tall. I'm using the Moroso air cleaner lid and like an 1 3/4 tall element. The base was an aluminum drop base that was an eBay score. I'll get some pics tomorrow eve if you'd like.
Yeah definitely not boring, like you Said thats how they were when we were growing up. I always got compliments on it every where I went and at carlisle. If it was boring Mopar action would have never done a photo shoot and put it in the magazine when I had owned it, you should be proud and your putting your own touches to it, keep up the great work. they said they picked it because how it looked like an old school super stock.

Here is mine.

I have Vintage air so I don't have blower motor on firewall

This is my 1970 Dart Swinger CA car now replanted in NJ and is 99% Rust free!! (kind of incredible for NJ) so now I'm ready to put the motor in as yesterday was about 70' degrees but today we got 3in and within the next day were having eight to 10 inches of snow. Anticipation is making me wait!!

Are you planning on sliding that assembled engine in from the bottom? Or are going to pull the headers off and shoehorn it from the top?

It's all coming apart. Im not tempting doing any damage going in with trans... afterwards the headers drop in from the top by rocking motor side to side

Do you have an engine pic? In particular, I'm really interested in your air cleaner setup. Love to way the filter sits in that Hemi scoop. Im putting one on my car with a 572" HEMI and would like to achieve the same effect. Your car is not boring and passe!

Pretty sure I've done 2 of these cars with 440's. A couple blankets and 2 guys. done deal.

I always drop big blocks into A-bodies from the top with the trans attached to the motor, it's even easier when the headers can go in last. My current Duster has headers that had to lay in there on blankets before the engine/trans was dropped in, luckily my son helped me!

My other cars had ProParts and Maddog headers, they were much easier.

We have all dropped them in from the top with trans. Every time I did it sucked and inevitably hit somewhere.

I put mine in from under the last time fully assembled on K and suspension with new paint every where. Easiest and least stressful thing I had ever done with this car!

I really do want to try installing it from the bottom some time. All the cars I've raced over the years I've honestly never had to remove a K-member or the torsion bars so I think that's what keeps me from trying it, plus I'm not real sure how to get the car high enough for the motor and trans to slide under the car. I don't have a lift.

Me either as far as lift goes. Did it in my standard garage with the hood open a bit no issue! The hoist lifted up the body and the rest rolled under. You do not have to lift the body as high as one may think. Try it some time saves lots of time bending over the fenders bolting stuff on.

75 duster /6 904 originally, now 440 RB 4 speed Torker II intake 800 cfm Edelbrock, ported heads, Crane 550 lift cam Harland Sharp Roller rockers. spring relocation, mini tubs a work in progress. mostly lots of boxes of parts at the moment. Headers have been the worst part so far.

I used the wooden creeper I built waaay back in high school and set the complete 440 727 k member and steering box on it and slid it under and eased the car down over it till I had the room to pull it up into place with the cherry picker. Even left the hood on.

just got mine going. 440, 525 lift cam, ported and milled heads. stock forged bottom end. 727, 3000 stall, transgo kit. nothing special but a lot of fun on a budget!
