Hmmmm... I dont have any digital pics of what the car looked like when I started this project 20 years ago... lol....
I bought the car from a friend who had banged the fender up on it. He got the car from his Grandpa who had bought it from the original owners who was the Washington State Police. Oddly enough the car started life as a Ugly Avacado green metallic painted (even the wheels) with dog dish caps and a leaning tower of power slant 6. The interior was nothing but rubber and vinyl. Pretty much a stripped model. The only thing cool on it was the Disc brakes up front. Car was complete and ran. The motor had 276,000 miles or so on it. The police apparently used it as a undercover "bar car". There are still all kinds of holes under the dash where radio equipment was screwed on. Definately not a pursuit car ... ha ha...

Anyways It ended up in my care and I slooooooooowly started working on a dream of mine. It has outlasted alot of other things in my life.

so here are a few pics of the resto when digital came around.....

Car was in a cheap primer coat for a long time.

At least it's saved some other cars...

Here is my 69 340 Swinger in Charger Red. Found it Aug 2006. It was last registered in 1984. Fender tag and build sheet included, numbers matching 340 and 727. Currently a work in progress.

Just purchased this from Alabama and shipped to Toronto,Ontario.Already swapped to front disc. brakes, removed 7 1/4 rear for an 8 3/4.She,s almost ready for the road.Still have to change front windshield, get blinkers and taillights working.I,m leaning towards B5 Blue with a white tailstripe. This car is pretty well rust free and is 43 years old.Just can,t find original bodied cars in this shape around here.Gonna make her a street/strip car mostly strip so I can save my 73 Dart Sport 340 4 speed from the track. It, nice to have something to work on while I,m laid-off.I had been gathering parts just for this time off work. It,s all coming together as planned.

You guys have done a phenomenal job on your cars. Well, mine is a mini-Mopar that I saved moments before being crushed. I've had the most fun with this car. It's my little rice eater. It's a 89' Turbo Dodge Daytona ES with T-Tops.

This was my find of the century. I found this 70 Charger in a back yard just south of New Brunswick, NJ when I made a wrong turn trying to avoid traffic. It was an original paint, 54k mile, genuine 440 6pack, 4 speed, 4:10 dana car. I sold it about '92 to buy a house. I think I sold it for about $2500 (durh!). A collector in Bergen County restored it. This is how it looked when I got it and how it looked a year after being sold.

Does anyone know of this collector or this car? I would love to see it again.

Now that is a rescue!

Shame on you for selling that car!

welcome 79jon.

Take some more pics of that thing and give us some info on your sick plans as I know you got a monster in the making. LOL.

This is what my valiant looked like the day I brought it home. I traded a ruff 79 Volare Road Runner for it. We primed it and started putting in the straight axle the next day.

Haha Well.. I havent done much to her yet, but its originally a slant 6/904 auto on the column. Im going to be dropping in a mild built 360/904 and swapping out the 7.25 rear for a 8.25. Ive already got a 73 340 Duster parts car im robbing the front disk brake setup out of so I can convert everything to 4.5 inch bolt pattern wheels (which I already have- Torq Thrust T70R's) The interior is in nice shape actually but its green, so im converting everything to black, and Ive already got buckets, console, and floor shifter column for it so thats what im doing on the interior. Here is a picture of it while im cleaning it out, and I installed my nice new grille in it. The second pic is of the interior, which I will convert to black, and the final picture is a pic of my 72 Duster im swapping parts with to the green 71. It will go up for sale after I finish it. The tanish 70 Dart Swinger is what im robbing the 360 out of!

Where's J.R.?

This car **** is getting outta hand!!

I can't stop the druel.

Pastor Tom, that interior sure did come out outstanding!

And bronx, the matte black Valiant looks sinister!

Bought out of a barn of a dozen or more Mopars, don't really know how long it sat but when I got it home and off the trailer the front tires split from the tread to the rim on the sidewall due to the dry rot, and the tread looked brand new. Everything leaked and the wiring was completely shot. The first 3 are where I picked it up, it was in the barn in the background, and the only one in it that ran, barely. Next 2 when I got it home from the 36 hour drive, the last one new tires and no leaks!

It looks the same but I can drive it!

i picked up a rusty 67 dart 2 dr sedan, the front clip was in terrible shape i put a rust free clip on frirewall/cowl foward, i started mocking up with a spool mount k frame 400 727 a fresh dana 60 with spool 4.30 gears 35 spline axles, offset hangers new tires... and im calling it quits. i am 99% sure im going to chop it up part it out and crush the shell. i had good intentions but i dont have the time to required to finish it. i think they all can be saved but like isaid i dont have the time and i need to recoupe some of my funds dumped into it.

Here is my '74 Duster. Purchased in May 2006. Sorry don't have any pics with the engine out on this computer.
