Show your slant 6 a body!

I have had quite a few slants and I like them, but I also like 318, 340, 383, 440, hemis etc!!!! ha
I got interested in F bodies about 4 years ago. Cheap toys. I lke to learn about new things. I am down to a 79 Volare slant supersix, true 94000 mi car, no rust, fresh white paint last year, drive anywhere car. Anyone $3900 located S E Tx.

Here's my slant. 1976 Valiant barn find. In the process of rooting out all the tin worm damage. Will hopefully end up a street legal weekend racer. Turbo 6 , warmed up 904 and spooled 7.25. Just to name a few ideas.

1965 Dodge Dart GT originally 273 HIPO, but previous owner installed a 1974 Slant 6 with an Autolite 2100 up top.
4 speed, 8.25 rear end, disc brakes up front. LBP all the way around.

Lucky for me, previous owner did all the work. Last tag was 2003, I got it registered in 2020. The car sat in my in-laws’ field for approx. 10 years before I got the nerve to see if I could start working on it. Fairly easy to get it on the road for someone that has zero knowledge, experience, and very limited budget.

That's a really nice car ! Good price too.Someone will grab that.[/QUOTE
I appreciate the kind remarks. It is a bargain as it will drive anywhere, a true 94.500 mi car. BUT any of our old cars built after 71 or 2 are pretty much discounted. I have several early B bodies and 1 early A body that are my keepers right now, so it is for sale. Too bad it is not a T top SuperCoupe in same condition. I had a flipper look at it other day thinking of making a resto-rod modern hemi deal out of it. We will see. (he smelled like a Chevy guy though!) ha

If I were to buy another F body it would be a station wagon with a 6 and the 4 speed overdrive set up .
I bought a 77 Volare couple yrs ago, premier wagon with 318 all complete NO rust NON driver, with a perfect grill. I gave $400 for it and made the 8 hr trip over W in Tx a lttle ways to get it. I traded the grill out to my 76 RR and put in a broke but fixable grill This wagon had such good bones, I could not get the $400 back!!! I did trade it off to a guy in Ms. and we meet half way. I would have kept if IF it had been a bare model. Most times these Volares are frame rusted back East but here they are NOT highly revered. Have a friend that raced one with a 360, hauled ***. Easy car to lighten and great traction.
I agree the slant and OD is a great combo, but not that easy to find. The F body group is a great bunch, but tighter than A body guys by a yard full! Parts are pretty cheap except the plastic grills!

From the Bayer boys. Got it from them in 1999. Perfect floor pan, lots of other rust.

Jelmoer, I like the rear 1/4 panel shape!

Thnx...
The originals where pure Bondo.
And here in Europe I can't find replacement panels for a normal price.
So I made templates of the front ones and cut the rear ones out.(see pic)
Now I ordered 1" adapters/spacers to get the rear wheels more to the outside.
More like the photo.
When everything fits well than I finish the quarters en get de Dart painted someday

This is my Aussie 67 Dodge ute, still under construction....there is a Valiant version with chrome bumpers, trims etc. with an auto option. The Dodge was the heavy duty base model with painted bumpers, no body moulds, and used big block Barracuda body reinforcing's and heavier suspension. Only trans available was the 3 speed manual. Dispite only 1400 being built, and an estimated 400 still in existence, I heavily modify this one. Yes the mighty slantie will go, replaced with a worked 318 with a turbo 700 trans, rack and pinion steering, big 4 wheel disc's and custom interior. Which as it's my trade, maybe a little over the top for a commercial vehicle!!
