Single rod replacement & weight difference

Internal balanced rotating assembly . Had to replace a single piston and thought I ought to replace everything in that cylinder . Target rod weight - 415 -164. Replacement - 429-166. Acceptable or no. Appreciate your opinions. Thanks -Mike

I’m assuming your numbers mean big end weight & small end weight. If so, the 2 gram difference between 166 and 164 is ok, but 429 and 415 is too big of a difference.

In which case, you remove 2 grams from the small end, and 14 from the big end.

It’s to easy to fix. Fix it.

If I was going to grind it, file it, or sand it, I would be sure that the tiny scratches run long ways as in between the bolts. Not across the rod narrow ways.
