Slant 6 727 wanted

how do you tell if it is a /6 727..or 904????.i have one engine and trans, kick down linkage out of a 75 duster 96,000 miles shifted good and ran good....it came out of this car 2 yrs ago....

To my knowledge they never made a slant 727 in a passenger car. They could be found in a lot of pickup trucks and some A series vans/trucks. Also in the early A series they used an adapter between the slant and 727.
 
THe easiest way to identify a 727 versus a 904 is the shape of the pan. If it just looks like a rectangle with the corner cut off, it's a 904. If it looks like that, with an extra "dogleg" under where the dipstick tube goes, it's a 727.
