-
7 hour drive, I could do this I think.. Talking to the boss lady tonight

You can do it ! I've driven 3000 miles to hang and race with these wonderful people. I would love to be there but family matters are keeping me home. RATS!

Come on Mike, If I can tow over 700 miles, you can do it. Would love to meet you.
Talking to the little lady about it tonight, I hope I can jump in here soon and tell you I will be there  And I would be so proud to finely meet you Charrlie :)

Does anyone know the guy's name who owns the fluro green Lancer from Carthage MO ? Also was it his car that ran against the Hellcat? Cheers.

Mark Goodman, I think Rusty Heisten usually drives it. That is the car that ran the Hellcat. That car and another Lancer, belonging to "Team Green", will be at Clay City, for the reunion race, in 1 1/2 weeks.

35 racers registered for the runoff on Saturday. A new record according to Rob. The rain came late Saturday before final rounds. I believe it got down to 4 cars. I decided to hit the road and drove 6 hours, 350 miles, through very heavy rain all the way home. (And it's still raining here Monday morning) The radio said there were funnel clouds spotted in the Lexington area so it was serious.
The track owner made the slants the #1 feature and treated us very well.
Shout out to Rob for running this thing! He was especially gracious to red light in the second round so he could devote full time to managing the program.
Date is set for next year, the weekend after the NHRA Nationals.

Updated car count is 37 cars/trucks, from 14 states. The final 5 cars, split the total purse. The main problem, I saw (other then the rain), was we needed name tags, with real names, and online names. It was hard to figure who was who, and put faces to names. Still was worth going to.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it. I had the Duster packed and ready to rock. We got 4.25 in of rain at my house on Saturday, and flooding was a real concern. I decided to stay home and keep a watch on things as opposed to going down and making myself miserable wondering if everything was ok.
The good news is the insulated glass block windows I installed this spring held the water back. No basement flooding this time, so the next bad rain I won't be so worried about it.
But I am sorry I missed this.
Rain at Carlisle, Mopar Nats and now this. I'm 0/3 for shows this year.

We are going to continue this race, at Knoxville, Tn. on Oct 27th.
Four of the five cars left, are Semi local to Knoxville, and Steve Adams is planning on towing up from Fl. I will be going up with him, to help out. Money has already been paid out, so this is just for bragging rights.

Two more days! Knoxville Dragstrip is going to fit us in for both scheduled races along with the last three rounds of the Reunion Race. Last race of the season.

We got rained out... again. That's all she wrote. Great year of Slant 6 drag racing with new and old friends getting together, several records set and the biggest Slant 6 drag race ever! See y'all next year!
