I have a nice spool type k member that I stripped to bare metal and epoxy primed then eastwood chasis black coated. $50 or best offer

what is the difference in mounts of this crossmember to a SB v8 one? apart from the location being slightly further forward on one side?

The spools themselves are a bit smaller diameter and location is slightly different. I was going to use schumacher conversion mounts but at the time there were none to be found. The guy who had the car before me had a 440 in it with conversion mounts. I found a small block k frame locally and bought it so this one has been sitting for 2 years in my shop.

I live New Zealand, and was wanting to put a LA block on spool mounts, in a 72 VH Chrysler Valiant coupe, but we only have the sandwich rubber mounts on our K members over here, so was looking at possibly getting a set of spool mounts, ground off the k member and sent/shipped over, as to send a whole k member over would be quite expensive, and all I want are the mounts, hence my question, cheers Andre

Sorry i haven't been on the forum in a while so just getting to your message. I suppose they could be cut off but the la spools are larger in width front to back than the slant six ones. I found that out when I tried to put v8 spools in that kframe they are about 1/2 inch smaller front to back

well if they dont fit, they dont fit ! no point cutting up a good crossmemer for something that wont work, oh well, do you know of a a-body spool mount crossmember? cheers Andre

I'd dig this for my 67 valiant to standardize what repair parts I might have to buy (I also have a 73 Dart), but property taxes have cleared me out for December.. (Sucks getting paid once a month, man.. oof..).. Anyway, if this is still available just before New Years, I'm game for it. That's when the direct deposit hits.. lol.. And, if it's gone by that time, it wasn't meant to be.. Anyhow, if we get to that point, shipping would be to zipcode 92688. (residential, unless they would count a school as a commercial address. My front office staff would love that. lol..)

Sure keep me updated im not on here but once or twice a week so if I don't answer right away I will get to you

Not off the top of my head. My car is a 1972 so it should have had a flat type engine mount but the guy before me had used the spool type kframe with schumacher conversion mounts to 440 rb block. He kept the conversion mounts with his engine. I didn't ask him why he changed the k frame but apparently schumacher has adapter mounts for most any configuration
