I bought a new dizzy from Oreilles and I have not had too many problems with anything from them till now.

The new dizzy does not have a tab for the hold down .......do I need to find that piece off another old dizzy or did I get the wrong part??

I told the guy at the store who ordered it .....1972 dodge dart demon with a 3.7L Vin code C

A1 Cardone is known , for this. Send it back, get the right one. (As a parts guy, A1 has been steadily declining, for a while.)

I have never seen one come without the hold-down plate. It should also have the O-ring installed, which goes on after the hold-down I recall.

If I remember they sell the hold down as separate part.
(mounting bracket) or something like that.

doesnt look like the later distributor that came withe the v8 style hold down. would just take the one off the distributor that you have already and run it.

probably where the problem is coming from is the fact that I didn't have an old distributor ....I assembled the engine from parts and pieces and I don't have an old dizzy so I just paid the core charge. consequently I didn't have anything to compare or I would have seen that in the store :banghead:

Just did an e-bay search and it looks like most do not come with the plate.

I bought a cardone from amazon a few months ago. Same exact situation for me as well, but i had my original distributor to rob parts from.
