Slant Six in BMW E30

Might have been discussed before, but just ran across this 2012 story. Leave it to Southern Boys to come up with this combo for a light-hearted race series. A slant is much cheaper to source than a Beemer straight-six and was competitive. Push-button tranny, no less.

Thats cool. I bet it had a bit more torque out the turns than the M20 but probably lost everywhere else. What comes to mind is an M-Powered 65 Valiant hiding a Beemer S54 6 cyl with 425HP.

Why? Turbos are not excluded from LeMons competition.

Competitive and sounded much better than the BMW powered cars. That right there is hilarious I don't care who you are. lol

While not excluded, the last time I had read about the rules and judging, excessive spending on modifications led to stiff extra lap penalties. Easy to modify a car completely out of contention.

Off Kilter Racing is running a 62 Valiant 225 slant six. And Escape Velocity Racing is running a 64 or 65 Dart 225 slant six with a turbo. I think there is also at least one other turbo slant running. Here is a thread about an up coming race.
