Slant six starter plate needed

"Sorry, I don't have a picture of one. But all it is, is a thin plate like the one for the torque converter. It is much smaller though & has about a three inch hole in the center for the starter to go through. These two "plates" are the only things between the bell and the block. Hope this makes sence & is helpful. " Looking for plate for starter if you have a pic that would help me greatly thanks David
 
I should still have 1 of these, I'll get a picture to make sure we're talking the same thing, Lawrence

all the slants i've messed with has had these-- 66 & earlier cars. pm's have been sent. Lawrence
 
after seeing it, i know it wasnt on mine. Is it needed im putting back together a 76 duster. David

It's purpose is to keep debris out of the starter/bell area. Is it absolutely needed? Your call.
I have seen them before not replaced.
 
I have one of these hanging on the wall in my shed. Send me a PM if anybody needs it.
