Next up is my D64 for early 273's

Then a Edel. STR-12. (Major bucks, take a loan for one, LOL! )
I'm not sure if a member here has one for sale, it's worth a check.

I would love to have the cross ram, but no way am I going to spend that kind of money. The offy intake, on a offy parts site they show a 2-4 setup but say 273-318. Would that work on the 340? I am not looking for a tunnel ram. Thanks Matt

As long as the intake is for 67 and up 318's, It'll work on a 340/360 fine. Early 273 engines have a smaller 5/16 attaching screw (Bolt) and they are drilled at a different angle than the later engines. You would have to redrill the intake at a different angle and with a larger hole to use the early intake. Just make sure it's for the later engines.

To bennifit better form the intake, try and port match the intake to the heads as best as possile and as deep as possible. I don't know how much meat is in the runners to do so.

Theres also a low rise and a high rise. The high rise has a taller carb pad. This is what I would be after myself.

I found a D 66 on Ebay last years. Using two Crater 500 non choke-no vacuum ports carbs on it. Had to lean out the secondary jets to .077-same as Edelbrock does for the Ford and Chevys which they still sell the dual quad for those motors.

I really like it. Car could idle cold in gear, has very good throttle response and power wise is close to my 650 DP Demon.
