Hey FABO, I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue.

I'm putting a 318 into my '75 Trailduster. The motor mounts are sitting flush and even with the brackets and the engine crossmember. The little locator nipples are sitting in the divots, but it is leaning to the passenger side noticeably.

I know it should be offset to the pass side, but I'm talking about it riding downhill.
I have the A833OD transmission mounted behind the engine and it's also askew.

The motor mounts are the tall ones (1.75") on both sides. Is this just a case of changing the driver's side mount to the medium mount, bringing it down and hopefully making it level?

Or, is there something else going on that I've overlooked?

I've tried to show it the best I can in these pics.

Thank you for any replies.

the engine bracket you have pictured does not look like the ones I removed from a D series truck, which I'm guessing are the same. Mine are much taller. Maybe it's just the picture, but how close is the oil pan to the center link?

Assuming you have the correct mounts made correctly, the mounts cam (or should be able to) slide up and down within the K frame and adjust the engine tilt from there. There are also shims you can purchase or make yourself to help level the engine out.

I believe these may be from a 70's van.

Here is the oil pan to center link.

Yes, the brackets are slotted to allow for some movement. Both of the brackets are at the end of the slots. Maybe I can increase the slot length to allow for some more adjustment.

those look like home made mounts or on backwards or something...the mount should be behind the lug

Dang, you are right. I have the 2 sides confused. Driver side goes behind the ears, passenger side goes in front. My memory is not what it used to be.

From the FSM...

That should not be needed to be done.

I mentioned in post #6 that I believe they are from a van. I was hoping I could make them work.
I'm pretty sure the van had the truck style mounts. I think I have a pair of the truck mount brackets if you're interested, send me a PM.

In the 3rd picture the driver's side mount bolt is through the lower ear hole, and the pass. side is through the upper ear hole. Do you have enough "wiggle room" to set them both on the upper or lower holes?

Every steel motor mount brackets for D trucks that I have had experience with look like the ones in the FSM pic posted above. They are all pretty tall mounts, but the ones on the motor in your truck look a lot shorter.

Thank you for all the replies. It's clear I gave the wrong mounts. I've got a line on the correct ones, so I'll give them a try.
