Probably not the right forum for this but....Anybody ever put a small block in a PT cruiser? I picked up a nice body and would like to make a drag car out of it. I saw one with a 440 at the nats but didnt get the guys name. I would like to ask a couple of technical questions from someone who has gone through the process.

...........Well, I'm guessin that since there's at least one 426 hemi, and at least one 3rd generation hemi powered PT, a lil' ol' small block shouldn't be much trouble.

There was a silver one in either Mopar Muscle or Mopar Action a few years ago. It had a 380/360 crate motor in it.

There was a Viper V10 powered one on e-bay a couple of months ago that was built for the SEMA show. My son wanted to go look at it but I told him if the things that scary in a Viper then I wouldnt want to be in a PT with it. It dont look real difficult to do a SB but I would still like to talk to someone with the experience so I know what to expect. I've only got $300 in the body so I dont care what I have to do to it to make it work. I got a welder and a chop saw so I'm sure I can do it.

Heres a 440 and it's Blown in a PT....2008 nats

The one I saw at the nats with a 440 and dual quads looked like it was factory built, really clean installation. The engine bay looks big enough to support a small block pretty easily but I was wondering what they do about the steering rack which sits real high right behind the engine which would really be a squeeze to get a transmission over the top of. Maybe they remount it under the crossmember. I would love to talk to one of these guys. The one with the 440 ran the stock front suspension.
