smog checkpoints

has anyone ever heard of smog checkpoints here in ca.?i havent seen one but someone i know from lancaster said they have them to combat all the fake smogs we seem to have here...

Heard of them in the early days of the IM240 dyno testing days(early 80's LA areas). Never run across one.

B.D 440,I cannot count much money I made pre Bar 92. Just side job, tune ups.Anything else,is private (lol).

We have more expensive gas, so we don't get smog....

Been in SoCal 9 years now...never seen one.

I've heard of them, but it sounded like an old wives tale.

They were used in AZ for a short while. Found out that above a certain speed they could not "sniff" your exhaust...they did last long...
