soldering gun recomendations

Weller.

Have had mine for 15 years...battered but never broken.

Just used it to burn holes in my carpet for the seat studs, you can burn lettering and logos into wood and leather as well as using it for soldering.

Very versatile tool.

I've got a Weller. 140w I believe. Works great at 30+ years old. I know I've seen some much older ones still in use that make mine look new.

Ive got a weller 40w pen and a weller 140w gun. Both work great. No issues.

While I wouldnt use it for commercial use, for my needs the one from Harbor Freight works great. I do alot of soldering of heavy stuff on cars and guitar amps.

Now my IRON that I want is a weller adjustable. It does alot of stuff that I really need the high quality soldering iron for. I would say it would solder about 75 % of the stuff on a mopar.

Not trying to steer you away from a quality soldering gun, just telling you my experience.

If I ever replace my cheap sams gun with something else, I am gonna try and find something used on ebay. Probably a Weller also.
