Thats one heck of a task you took on....Awesome work !!!!!

I have to be honest, I bought this off of E-bay during the high gas prices because I wanted something that got a little better milage than my lifted jeep wrangler and was a little classier than a stinkin neon. Drove it 5 hours home, was gassed out, nothing worked but the engine and brakes, body let air in like a piece of swiss cheese. my GPS taped to the dash board......

Once I got home I decided it was not in the cards for a quick patch up to get safely on the road and as a result have completely tore the car apart. My biggest challenge has been rust removal, decent replacement sheetmetal and lack of real facilities other than my garage, I never intended for this to be as in depth as it has become and throwing cash at it isn't my style, you don't know how well your comment fits this project.

(In the begining)

Well, its been awhile since I updated this thread. I have been working on getting the house up for sale so I can move closer to family in Michigan so the cuda has taken a back seat. Currently I'm plug welding the inner fenders & radiator support back into the frame rails and the fire wall. I'm having some issue with a small section on the cowl, I'm not sure I have the skill level to weld up the patches I need to get in it so I may be looking for some local help soon on that. The reason I am posting tonight I had a day last week warm enough to shoot the dash assy in SEM hot rod black. I started putting it back together tonight. I still have a couple wiring modifications I need to do but over all it's looking pretty good. You may notice a volt meter is installed in the dash I'll be running it off of a relay powered by the run circuit so it wont drain the battery while sitting in the driveway. Hope to get some pics up soon of the front end.
Joe

Looks great Joe! Keep up the good work. Hope the weather holds out so you can get that front end in there ... I want to see it as much as you do. ;-)

Today I got a wild hair, as I get closer to painting the front end of the cuda I started thinking about shoving the engine and tranny back in withiut finishing the bottom paint I started when I welded the floor pan in. So, with the help of my always way to willing neighbors I got the job done without having to lay under it and get covered by sand, crap and paint!

I used POR 15 rust sealer, I think I got more on me than the car. I'm not a big fan of the bucket style sand blaster either but it did the job with some coaxing.? Ha HA
Quarter seemed to make it fine? I was worried about it but since the lowers need to be cut out any way I just went with it.

Good to see,and the best part your doing it yourself.I always like doing my cars myself, not buying one done no fun there.

Great work, must be nice to have helping neighbors. All mine do is complain about everything:disgust:.I try to be nice and tell them...go back in your house.LOL.

My neighbors are OK until I fire up with open headers LOL.Had the police called once,he came loved the car and said lets here it,should of seen the old lady in the window watching price lesssssss.

It's really a good deal. I'm into jeeps big time and on any given weekend the yard may have 6 or 7 jeeps being worked on. No one has ever complained? Very lucky for sure.

thats probably the most creative use of a tree I have ever seen.. LOL

I love how you did the underside, keep up the good work.

Minutes away from shooting color, taking bets on how bad I'll mess this up before I'm done.......
