Well I put water in the rad to get ready for Tuesday fire up day.Well the 40 year rad sprung a leak,so off to the rad shop for the re-core,what bugs me when i was trying to clean out calcium I plug the bottom outlet filled it no LEAK just had to happen when I was soooooooo close.

Since it's out, I would still have it checked. Just because it doesn't leak with a plug, doesn't mean it won't leak under some pressure... Radiators must be able to hold the pressure also...

seems like rad. are the weak link, but can you expect a 40-50 yr old radiator to be problem free!!???? you see so many cooling issues on this site, even with new aluminum radiators, all thier electric fans etc!!!!!!
lets face it, the cooling system is just that, a system....... rad., fan, water pump, cooling of the engine components, the heater core. the shroud, the rubber under hood to direct air to rad........blook bored out?? compression..
 
what?? did it last only 40 yrs? I would for sure put a claim to get it on warranty!
new core would be like new! nice eng.room btw!
 
He said he is giving me a deal 330 Canadian, it was in stock,his completer up the road want 400 for a 2 row 500 for the 3 row so 330 for a 3 row sounds great.
