Got up early Thanksgiving morning and purchased a set of bare casting CNC heads. They had my money this entire time and just tonight I got this email. Im a bit pissed to be honest!!

the longer they delay, the more interest 'your' money earns in their account. unfortunately it seems common these days, you pay and the money's gone immediately. but you need a refund and it's minimum 3-5 working days. and as in your case a few weeks before they contact you and then you have to reply. how long before they then get back to you? who knows and then there's still the 3-5 working days :BangHead:
neil.

Joeseph (Speedmaster) replied back that they just now found out or they would have gotten back to me sooner....my *** too! Im done with Speedmaster all together after this stunt, Ill just save money and go elsewhere! Just wanted to give everyone else a heads up on how things work at SPEEDMASTER!

I have the CNC ones I bought 2yrs ago but honestly if I was to do again I would have bought the bare ones. Grab the bear ones and get the right hardware for your cam that’s better matched.

The last time I was on the SM site they were no longer offering the CNC head. Promaxx (probably just another branch of SM) shows they still offered them around Thanksgiving but at only 10% off.

This is why you order from Summit Racing. Great customer service and if it says in stock, it's IN STOCK and if somehow it ain't you know real quick.

Not really. I live 15mins from the Summit Racing in Ohio and their web site is a mess. They show stuff they do not have. Just went there for a camshaft last week. They showed 5 in stock at the Ohio store. Got there they had none. Back ordered until next year. Even paint I needed... nothing. Parts are hard as hell to come by. But yes their customer service is the best. But I did get a camshaft from a member here so all it good!

Also I bought a set of pistons at Summit Racing last week. They had no rings at all. They told me they could ordered them and drop ship them to my house but not until next year about mid January. WTF? Why would you have two sets of pistons and no rings of any kind in stock? I bought the pistons so I can get the block bored and I ordered the rings from some place else.

I bought some roller rockers from them. 1.5 Stainless Steel ones. When I got them bushings were silver. So asked what the material used was, reply was rockers are Stainless

Speedmasters cnc shop lost the CNC file. They told me that early on black Friday IIRC when I called in. What was left in stock was gone by Thursday night and no restock until they got a fresh CNC program.

Posted that in the Black Friday sale thread.

They aren't losing any money selling them at the prices they were listed for on the site. Crap happens and I still don't like them as an organization for the nonsense with one of my orders. That clusterfuck is MAGNITUDES worse than getting your money back because they don't have an item any longer. Bad form, but, at least you got your money back. Could be worse, MUCH WORSE!

Or possibly Speedmaster lost the support of the Promax CNC shop?

IIRC, they still have a lot of CNC stuff for Brand X stuff. Not sure if they are still using a CNC shop down the street from the Rialto location. I used to know the name of the place.

That's why you call and verify. I'd do that with anybody.

Yeah, some of it makes no sense at all.

The Speedmaster and the Promaxx are two completely different castings from two different foundries. The new AFR head is a Speedmaster casting. All are Edelbrock copies. I have the Speedmaster and the Promaxx side by side on a work bench.

Not going to hijack this thread but I ran flow numbers on the Promaxx this morning vs SM and Edel. I'll post under the heading SBM Promaxx Flow Numbers.

SM seriously needs to get there **** together when they offer a Sale they should know there stock its completely BULLS#*T. Has anyone who ordered from the Sale Received there parcel or even gotten a tracking number??
