Does anyone know if a 904 uses a sort or a long speedo pinion gear that goes in the tailshaft ? Ok I admit it, I'm too lazy to pull mine out and look.

I don't know if it is the short one or the long one but mine is roughly 4 1/4" long.

it depends on the age of your tranny - there is the old style with a short one, and the later tranny model with a longer one

c. stanley. The PATC website says short ones are used for electric
speedos which I assume your early car does not have.

these are the 2 versions i know or how they will look, both the first one is the kind used in later 904 tranny (like in my 70 Valiant) and the one below is the one used like in my older "pushbutton" 904 out of my 65 B´cuda

Thanks everyone. Mine is a 1974 , I would think it is like the top one in the pic. I have heard the electic speedos were the short ones.
