speedometer acting wacky

Took the duster (72) out today for maybe our last fling this year. Got on it hard through the top of 2nd gear. looked at speedo and it said 80mph. Seemed too high. Up until this point, it was dead on whenever i passed one of those "your speed is" things. Now it seems to be running 10 mph high or so. Whe I come to a stop, the needle bounces up and down and doesn't go below 8 or 9 mph. Obviously the speedo has had a stroke or something. Anybody know what I need to do to fix this? Or is it terminal? I need some ideas.

that happens to me alot (the clip on the top of my cable plug-in is broken off), your cable might have become loose and just needs to be pluged back in, or the rod inside the cable needs to be lubed. thats about all i can think of.
