ok so got the spacers in for the leaf springs... seem a little to far back but havn't had any issues so im going to leave them...

also today messed with the carb today a little and got it to idle better

also pulled the washers off the spark plugs and wooh! what a difference!!!!

well got some shims to a just pinion angle... was about 1* now about 4 or 5...

ok so a great night out at the track! learned alot about tuning (thanks to my boss who trailered my car out) and messing with stuff!

well i took the hood off the dart so i can work on making my cold air thing to separate the engine compartment from the carb...

and well i got a little carried away on cutting the hood lol...

and im not done...

so here are some pics hope to have it finished tomorrow along with a good chunk done on the forced air...

That's exactly what we want to do to our '64 Valiant hood. Do you know how much weight you removed? Nice job....

i dont have a scale but i might get one today...

its crazy there is this ~16ga plate all the way from the most to the front od the scoop... it probably equals all the weight i cut out! glued in tho!

also the heaviest part is the hood latch area... its thicker metal and has braces behind it...
 
they didnt want the hood folding in half when someone closes it, nor did they want the harmonics from the wind turning the hood into a musical instrument while flying down the freeway....
