Well, as the title says, I hope to finally get something started on my Barracuda and I think I've settled on a 360 stroker. I've found an already .030 over block at a machine shop that someone else started, then never paid for. They recommended the 408 stroker kit from ohiocrank.com , has anybody used that kit? Is it worth the extra $$$ for the 'balanced' assembly? I'm planning a street hot rod, not a race car, it'll probably never see over 6,000 RPM or a drag strip, so will be looking mostly for low end grunt, not top end HP. I've read lots of good stuff here and on some other groups about this combination, but feel like I need some more details.
I found a book: "How to Build Big-Inch Mopar Small Blocks: Up to 476 Cubic Inches by Jim Szilagyi, a Performance Specialist for Dodge Motorsports and Mopar Performance Parts" Is this a good choice? From the table of contents, it looks like it should be.
Suggestions are welcome, from the reading I've done, I'm leaning towards the Magnum heads and a relatively mild cam with an Edelbrock Performer type intake and a 750 or so CFM vacuum secondary 4BBL.
Thanks for your help and ideas.
